Work on your mixing.

Your kick should be the most prominent thing. No definite structure besides the breakdown at 1:07 ... Keep the listener interested ... Needs more effects, more percussion, and more structure.

Maccomo responds:

I actually just didn't wan't to use too much effects and percussion to keep out the melody.

6/10

Snare was a bit too loud. Got repetitive very quickly. Needs more cymbals. Ride and crash, etc. Got interesting at 1:00 or so at the breakdown and picked back up nicely. But still gets kind of repetitive. There is not much melody, its just up down , down up ... Bass sounds nice though. I'd change that lead to a synth and make a sweet melody on top of that bass line.

DJBobHoskins responds:

will do. thanks for the feedback. valuable stuff! I'll keep trying. As i say, it's not quite finished yet

Sweet melody

Could I remix this into hardstyle?

PM me! :)

Neon-Crepth responds:

O.o hardstyle!!?? D: that's a genre i have never really delved into... i wonder what it would sound like. ill pm in a sec.

im honored that someone would want to remix MY song though. thank you!

You = Good

You said you get the Linkin Park thing a lot? I think Linkin Park copied YOU.. :3 I like your style a lot better...Less whack white boy rap and less want to be emo lyrics ...

Just gentle piano and a steady beat :)

nubbinownz responds:

hehe i was thinking of adding some whack white boy rap actually ;)

Well done

This is my favorite kind of breakcore...The ambient-esque ... Good job. Nice melody used. Overall one of my favorite songs on NG now :) Ty

nubbinownz responds:

i try to make my breaks fit with a melodic undertone :) i'm really glad you enjoy it.

Inspiration

So...

I've had quite the case of "producer's block" this past month or two and I really think this song is the breaking point. The second I heard that bass I fell in love. The waves were a bit loud but nothing bothersome. Then when I heard that emotional melody it made me run to FL7 and start laying down tracks. Thanks for the inspiration. Loved the song. Bass was ridiculously amazing and the melody was awesome.

Great job yooooo

Sweet :)

^_^! Awesome sound

Great sounding melody. Would've like some snare rolls for buildups but can't have everything can I? :P ... But I think I recognize some presets here. Do you use Z3ta+? If not it sounds quite close to one of the presets in there. Nothing wrong with that though! In my hardstyle song I used 2 presets :O ..

Dj-Rippa responds:

Yes z3ta+ was a vst i used.. busted for the presets:P
but why not if u really like them right.. no need for change:D
Thanx for the review:D!!!

:O 1

Where'd you get that vocal in the very beginning? Sounds super hardstyle!! ...

Pretty good song! :)

Could've used some more smooth transitions but rest was like...real good :D

Dj-Rippa responds:

thanx man:D
first one under 10:( lol o well
:D!!!

'Ey man! :)

Thats right. Keep at it, and keep striving to be better! :)

One thing, get a hold of some good VSTs and good samples. Vengeance Essential Clubsounds Vol 1 & 2 are the gods of samples. Then read all you can about mixing and mastering your sound, to make it sound clean. And then look into some melody construction techniques (well that first actually)

Its not sounding too bad :)

I know you've got the creativity for it, you just need the tools and medium to apply it! :)

jkrox4eva responds:

thanks =]

ill have to buy FL first im guessing to use those VST's haha :p

but ill get to buying FL soon, its so addicting and i keep on wanting to know more
thanks man

Omg ! :)

That melody would sound so sexy in a hardstyle song dude! ^_^

Do you mind if I remix this? Anyway you could send me that melody? I'm loving it. Sounds so hard and dark.

Nice snare usage.

Check out my new hardstyle demo http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/liste n/123587

( you left an awesome review for hte first one so I thought i'd inform you of hte new one)

poopr1221 responds:

YAY! thank you. yes you can remix it. if you have fl studio it's just a sytrus with a little background synth called galactix. message me back about it.
